The CSIR - Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysore, one of India's premier food research laboratories under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has announced recruitment for the position of Project Associate-I (PAT-I) under Advertisement No. PAT.02/2026. About the Project Associate Position

Fellowship and Benefits

Selected Project Associates will receive monthly fellowship as per CSIR norms. Candidates who have qualified in National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent examinations will receive Rs. 31,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable. Candidates without NET/GATE qualification will receive Rs. 25,000/- per month plus HRA.

In addition to the monthly fellowship, Project Associates may be entitled to contingency grants for research-related expenses, access to institute facilities including library and hostels (subject to availability), and opportunities to attend conferences and training programs. The fellowship may be revised as per CSIR guidelines from time to time.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and up to 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will be applicable as per Government of India rules. Women candidates and candidates with prior research experience may also be eligible for age relaxation as per CSIR norms.

Selection Process
