Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) has announced recruitment for 245 Apprentice positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the financial year 2026-27. The vacancies are distributed across three categories: ITI Trade Apprentice, Diploma Apprentice, and Graduate Apprentice in various engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Information Technology.

CSPGCL is a leading power generation company in Chhattisgarh operating multiple thermal power plants. This apprenticeship program offers excellent hands-on training opportunities for fresh ITI pass-outs, diploma holders, and engineering graduates. Apprentices will gain practical industrial experience in power plant operations, maintenance, and management while receiving monthly stipends.

Vacancy Distribution by Category

The 245 vacancies are divided into three main categories based on qualification levels. ITI Trade Apprentices form the largest group with positions in trades like Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Electronics Mechanic, and other relevant ITI trades required for power plant operations.

Diploma Apprentices are required in engineering disciplines including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, and Electronics Engineering. These apprentices will work on technical projects and assist in power plant operations under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Graduate Apprentices positions are available for B.E./B.Tech graduates in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, and Information Technology disciplines. Graduate apprentices will be involved in advanced technical work, project planning, and engineering analysis activities.

Educational Qualifications

For ITI Trade Apprentice positions, candidates must have completed ITI in relevant trades from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutes. The ITI certificate must be in trades relevant to power plant operations such as Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, or Instrument Mechanic. Fresh ITI pass-outs without prior apprenticeship experience are preferred.

For Diploma Apprentice positions, candidates need a three-year diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized State Board of Technical Education or AICTE-approved institution. For Graduate Apprentice positions, candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree or equivalent in relevant engineering disciplines from a recognized university or AICTE-approved institution.

All candidates must have mandatory registration with the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal for ITI and Graduate apprentices, or National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal for Diploma apprentices. A valid 16-digit registration number from NAPS/NATS is essential for applying.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be permanent residents of Chhattisgarh state, verified through domicile certificate. Candidates should not have undergone apprenticeship training previously under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates with more than one year of formal employment experience are not eligible. Age criteria and other specific requirements will be as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and CSPGCL norms.

Stipend Structure

Apprentices will receive monthly stipends as per government norms and company policy. ITI Trade Apprentices will receive approximately Rs. 9,600/- per month during the apprenticeship period. Diploma Apprentices will get around Rs. 11,000/- per month depending on the discipline and year of training. Graduate Apprentices will receive approximately Rs. 12,300/- per month as stipend. The stipend amounts are subject to revision as per government guidelines and CSPGCL policies.

Training Duration

The apprenticeship training duration varies by category and trade. ITI apprenticeship typically lasts 12 months for most trades, though some trades may have different durations as per Apprenticeship Rules. Diploma apprenticeship is usually for 12 months. Graduate apprenticeship is for 12 months. The exact duration will be specified in the apprenticeship agreement.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit as per marks obtained in the qualifying examination (ITI/Diploma/Degree). Candidates will be shortlisted based on their educational qualifications, marks percentage, and compliance with eligibility criteria. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC categories will be as per Chhattisgarh state government norms. Document verification will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before final engagement.
