All India Institute of Medical Sciences Deoghar (AIIMS Deoghar), established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) and functioning as an Institute of National Importance, has released a major recruitment notification inviting applications for 132 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) positions across multiple medical and dental specialties. The Senior Resident positions being recruited through this notification are distributed across a wide spectrum of clinical and para-clinical departments. These include core clinical specialties such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, and Dermatology. Super-specialty departments like Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery are also part of this recruitment. Para-clinical departments including Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Transfusion Medicine have vacancies. Pre-clinical and community medicine departments such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, and Forensic Medicine are also recruiting. Additionally, positions are available in Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dentistry and allied dental specialties. To be eligible for these positions, candidates must possess a recognized Post Graduate Medical Degree (MD/MS) or Diploma awarded by the National Board of Examinations (DNB) or Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in the relevant specialty. The degree must be recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the Dental Council of India (DCI) as applicable. Candidates must have completed their post-graduate training and should hold valid registration with the MCI or State Medical Council for both their undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) and postgraduate (MD/MS/DNB/MDS) qualifications. For candidates who have completed their undergraduate medical education (MBBS) from foreign universities, it is mandatory to possess a valid Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) qualification or Screening Test Certificate issued by the National Board of Examinations or the NMC. Without this, such candidates will not be considered eligible regardless of their post-graduate qualifications. The remuneration package for Senior Residents is as per the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations. Selected candidates will be placed in Level 11 of the Pay Matrix with an entry pay of Rs. 67,700 per month. In addition to the basic pay, Senior Residents are entitled to Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA), which is calculated as a percentage of the basic pay and is specifically provided to compensate for the restriction on private practice. Other allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or government accommodation, Transport Allowance, and other benefits as admissible under Central Government rules will also be provided. When all components are considered, the total monthly emoluments can be substantially higher, making this an attractive career proposition. The maximum age limit for applying is 45 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and as per rules for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates. However, it is crucial to note that candidates who have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency in any institution are not eligible to apply for these positions. This clause ensures that opportunities are provided to candidates in the initial phase of their post-MD/MS career. The application process is completely offline. Interested and eligible candidates must visit the official AIIMS Deoghar website (www.aiimsdeoghar.edu.in) and download the prescribed application format. The application form must be filled in completely with accurate information. Candidates need to affix a recent passport-size photograph and sign at the designated places. The filled application form along with self-attested photocopies of all relevant certificates and documents must be sent by post/speed post to the address mentioned in the official notification. The envelope should be clearly superscribed with "Application for the Post of SR in the Department of __________" mentioning the specific department being applied for. Additionally, candidates are advised to send a scanned copy of the complete application along with all enclosures as a single PDF file to the email address [email protected]. The PDF file should not exceed 5 MB in size and should be clear and legible when printed. Both the hard copy and soft copy of the application must be submitted before the deadline of 5th February 2026. Required documents include proof of Date of Birth (Class 10th or 12th certificate), Aadhaar Card, Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD certificate issued by competent authority), MBBS/BDS degree and mark sheets of all professional examinations, Internship completion certificate, MD/MS/DNB/MDS degree and mark sheets, MCI/State Medical Council permanent or provisional registration for MBBS/BDS, MCI/State Medical Council registration for MD/MS/MDS, FMGE/Screening Test certificate (if applicable), Experience certificates from previous institutions (if any), NOC from current employer (if employed), recent passport-size photographs, and any other relevant certificates. The selection will be based on performance in a personal interview conducted by a duly constituted selection committee.
