Complete Job Details
Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), a prestigious Government of India Undertaking functioning under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy, has announced an exceptional career opportunity for experienced and qualified medical professionals. UCIL is conducting a Walk-in Interview for the recruitment of 08 Medical Officer positions on a contractual basis at its Jaduguda establishment. This recruitment initiative is part of UCIL's continuous efforts to maintain and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to its employees and their dependents working in challenging mining and industrial environments.
UCIL, established in 1967, has been the pioneering force behind uranium mining and processing in India. The corporation operates several uranium mines and processing plants across the country, contributing significantly to India's atomic energy program. Given the specialized nature of work in nuclear fuel cycle operations, UCIL places paramount importance on occupational health and safety, making the role of Medical Officers critical to its operations.
The recruitment is open to candidates holding an MBBS degree that is duly recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC). Candidates must have gained relevant clinical experience by working in reputed hospitals or healthcare institutions. Those possessing Post Graduate degrees (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant medical specializations such as General Medicine, Occupational Health, Community Medicine, or other clinical branches will have a distinct advantage during the selection process. Additionally, special preference will be accorded to candidates who have completed the Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) qualification, which is particularly relevant and valuable for managing occupational health in industrial and mining settings.
The remuneration package offered by UCIL is highly competitive and structured based on the candidate's professional experience in the medical field. Medical Officers with 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 80,500. Those with 5 to 9 years of experience will be entitled to Rs. 1,00,600 per month, while candidates possessing 9 years or more of professional medical experience will receive Rs. 1,20,600 per month. This experience-linked compensation structure ensures that candidates are fairly rewarded for their expertise and professional journey.
The job responsibilities of Medical Officers at UCIL are diverse and challenging. They will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary and secondary healthcare services to UCIL employees and their families, managing the day-to-day operations of hospitals or dispensaries, conducting regular health check-ups and pre-employment medical examinations, maintaining accurate and updated medical records, coordinating with specialist doctors and hospitals for tertiary care when required, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations specific to mining and nuclear industries, conducting health awareness programs and preventive healthcare initiatives, managing medical emergencies and providing first aid, monitoring workplace health hazards and suggesting remedial measures, and participating in periodic health surveillance programs for workers exposed to occupational hazards.
The age eligibility criterion is quite liberal, with candidates below 65 years of age being eligible to participate in the Walk-in Interview. This provision allows even senior and experienced medical practitioners, including those approaching retirement from other organizations, to contribute their vast knowledge and clinical expertise to UCIL's healthcare delivery system. The Walk-in Interview has been scheduled for 30th January 2026 (Friday) and candidates must report at 09:30 AM sharp at the New Administrative Building, UCIL Jaduguda.
Candidates planning to attend the Walk-in Interview must bring a comprehensive set of documents in original along with self-attested photocopies. The required documents include MBBS degree certificate and all mark sheets, Internship completion certificate, Medical Council registration certificate (MCI/State Medical Council), Experience certificates from all previous employers clearly mentioning the duration and nature of work, Post Graduate degree certificate and mark sheets (if applicable), AFIH or other relevant course certificates (if applicable), Date of birth proof (Class 10th certificate), Caste certificate (if claiming reservation), Recent passport size color photographs, and a detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae (Resume).
It is important to note that no Travelling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided to candidates for attending the Walk-in Interview. However, outstation candidates may request accommodation at UCIL housing colony, which may be provided subject to availability on a chargeable basis. Candidates should make such requests well in advance.
The selection process will be conducted through a personal interview, where a panel of senior medical and administrative officials will assess the candidates on various parameters including clinical knowledge and competence, understanding of occupational health issues, previous work experience and achievements, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in challenging environments, and overall suitability for the position. The decision of UCIL management regarding selection will be final and binding.
This is a contractual appointment, and the selected candidates will be engaged as per UCIL's terms and conditions applicable to contractual employees. The contract period, renewal provisions, and other service conditions will be as per the organization's prevailing policies. This opportunity is ideal for medical professionals who are passionate about public service, interested in occupational health, and wish to contribute to India's strategic atomic energy sector while ensuring the health and well-being of the dedicated workforce.
