Essential Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following qualifications as per Medical Council of India (MCI) norms:
Basic Medical Qualification:
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical college/university
- Name must be registered in the Indian Medical Register or State Medical Register
- Valid registration certificate from any State Medical Council (mandatory)
Postgraduate Qualification (Department-wise):
Candidates must possess relevant postgraduate degree/diploma/super-specialty qualification depending on the department applied for:
Option A: Postgraduate Degree
- MD (Doctor of Medicine) in relevant specialty
- MS (Master of Surgery) in relevant specialty
- DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in relevant specialty
Option B: Super-Specialty Degree
- DM (Doctorate of Medicine) in super-specialty like Cardiology, Neurology, Critical Care, etc.

Option C: Postgraduate Diploma

- Fresh postgraduate degree/diploma holders
- Candidates with less than 3 years of total senior residency experience
- Candidates whose previous senior residency appointments were discontinued before completion of 3 years
Registration Requirements
- Permanent/Provisional registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council
