RGSSH Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 – Walk in for 14 Posts

Important: Candidates must report between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. Late arrivals will not be permitted to participate in the interview.

There is no application fee for this recruitment. All eligible candidates can attend the walk-in interview free of cost without paying any fee.

The maximum age limit for Senior Resident positions is 37 years as on the date of walk-in interview (28 January 2026).

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is admissible as per Government of NCT of Delhi/Central Government rules:

Note: Candidates claiming age relaxation must produce relevant certificates in prescribed format issued by competent authority during document verification.

Essential Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications as per Medical Council of India (MCI) norms:

Basic Medical Qualification:

• MBBS degree from a recognized medical college/university
• Name must be registered in the Indian Medical Register or State Medical Register
• Valid registration certificate from any State Medical Council (mandatory)

Postgraduate Qualification (Department-wise):

Candidates must possess relevant postgraduate degree/diploma/super-specialty qualification depending on the department applied for:

Option A: Postgraduate Degree

• MD (Doctor of Medicine) in relevant specialty
• MS (Master of Surgery) in relevant specialty
• DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in relevant specialty

Option B: Super-Specialty Degree

• DM (Doctorate of Medicine) in super-specialty like Cardiology, Neurology, Critical Care, etc.
• M.Ch (Master of Chirurgiae) in super-specialty like Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, etc.

Option C: Postgraduate Diploma

• Postgraduate Diploma in relevant specialty (for specific departments as mentioned in vacancy details)

Specific Qualification Requirements by Department

The exact qualification required depends on the department/specialty for which the candidate is applying. Common requirements include:

• Neurosurgery: MS (General Surgery) + M.Ch (Neurosurgery) OR DNB (Neurosurgery)
• Cardiac Anaesthesia: MD (Anaesthesiology) + Fellowship/Additional qualification in Cardiac Anaesthesia OR DA + DNB (Anaesthesia)
• Cardiology: MD (General Medicine) + DM (Cardiology) OR DNB (Cardiology)
• Emergency Medicine: MD (Emergency Medicine) OR DNB (Emergency Medicine) OR MD (General Medicine)/MS (General Surgery) with Emergency Medicine experience
• Other Departments: Relevant MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch as applicable

Experience and Residency Conditions

Important Condition: Candidates must NOT have completed 3 years of Senior Residency in any recognized institute including:

• Central Government hospitals
• State Government hospitals
• Autonomous institutes
• Medical colleges

This includes both regular and ad-hoc/contractual senior residency periods combined.

Acceptable Candidates:

• Fresh postgraduate degree/diploma holders
• Candidates with less than 3 years of total senior residency experience
• Candidates whose previous senior residency appointments were discontinued before completion of 3 years

Registration Requirements

• Permanent/Provisional registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council
• Registration certificate must be valid and in force
• Candidates with foreign medical qualifications must have MCI screening test clearance and registration
