The Research Assistant position is purely contractual and project-based with a tenure of 20 months. The position offers a monthly fellowship/stipend of Rs. 37,000/-, which is quite competitive for research positions at this level. The selected Research Assistant will be responsible for carrying out extensive fieldwork and data collection in metropolitan cities of India. The role involves traveling to different locations, interacting with families, conducting interviews and surveys, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, and ensuring proper documentation. The candidate will also be involved in data analysis, using appropriate statistical and qualitative analysis tools, and assisting in the preparation of research reports and academic papers. The project explores the fascinating dynamics of how family culture is preserved and transformed across generations, and how parents play a pivotal role in ensuring upward social and economic mobility for their children.
