The degree must be obtained through regular mode of education from an institution approved by NMC. Candidates must have successfully completed the mandatory one-year compulsory rotating internship as per NMC regulations and must possess the internship completion certificate issued by a recognized medical institution. The most critical requirement is valid registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC). Candidates must have obtained provisional or permanent registration with MMC before applying. The registration must be current and valid, without any disciplinary proceedings or suspensions. Registration from other state medical councils is not acceptable unless candidates obtain fresh MMC registration before joining. For foreign medical graduates, NMC equivalence certificate along with FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) clearance is mandatory. Without these credentials, foreign medical graduates cannot apply for this position. ## Age Limit and Reservation The upper age limit for Junior House Officer positions is 33 years for general category candidates. Age relaxation of 5 years is provided for SC/ST/OBC candidates, making their maximum age 38 years. Persons with Disabilities receive age relaxation as per PWD Act and Government of Maharashtra rules, typically 10 years for general category PwD candidates and cumulative relaxation for reserved category PwD candidates.
