Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has issued an official recruitment notification for the appointment of 23 positions across various categories including Medical Officers, Dental Officers, Pharmacists, Data Entry Operators, Nursing Assistants, Laboratory personnel, and support staff on a contractual basis for ECHS Polyclinics located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) and Nanded, Maharashtra. This recruitment provides an excellent opportunity for both ex-servicemen and civilian candidates to serve the veterans' community and contribute to the healthcare delivery system designed for our armed forces personnel and their dependents. ECHS was established in 2003 as a healthcare scheme for ex-servicemen and their families, providing quality medical treatment through a network of polyclinics, service hospitals, and empanelled private hospitals across the country. The scheme covers approximately 55 lakh beneficiaries including ex-servicemen pensioners, war widows, and their dependents. ECHS Polyclinics serve as the first point of contact for beneficiaries, providing comprehensive outpatient services, diagnostic facilities, and referral services to higher medical centers when required. The current recruitment covers 14 positions at ECHS Polyclinic Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and 09 positions at ECHS Polyclinic Nanded, totaling 23 vacancies across different categories. The positions include highly qualified medical professionals such as Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Medical Officers (MO), and Dental Officers, para-medical staff including Pharmacists, Laboratory Assistants, Laboratory Technicians, and Nursing Assistants, administrative personnel like Data Entry Operators and Clerks, and support staff including Drivers, Chowkidars, Female Attendants, and Safaiwalas. For the position of Officer-in-Charge, candidates must possess MBBS qualification along with substantial clinical experience and administrative capabilities. Medical Officers require MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India with valid registration. Dental Officers must have BDS qualification with MCI/Dental Council registration. Pharmacists need B.Pharma or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution. Laboratory positions require B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology or DMLT qualification. Nursing Assistants should have GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or equivalent nursing diploma. For Data Entry Operator and Clerk positions, candidates need graduation with computer knowledge and typing skills. Support staff positions require educational qualifications ranging from Class 8th pass to Class 12th pass depending on the specific role. The compensation package varies according to the position and responsibility level. Officer-in-Charge positions offer the highest remuneration at Rs. 95,000 per month. Medical Officers are entitled to Rs. 86,000 per month, while Dental Officers will receive Rs. 80,000 per month. Pharmacists will get Rs. 29,200 per month. Laboratory Technicians are offered Rs. 36,500 per month, and Laboratory Assistants Rs. 25,600 per month. Nursing Assistants will receive Rs. 31,200 per month. Data Entry Operators and Clerks are entitled to Rs. 25,600 per month. Support staff salaries range from Rs. 21,800 per month for Drivers, Chowkidars, Female Attendants, and Safaiwalas. These consolidated monthly remunerations are as per ECHS prevailing rates for contractual appointments. The age limit for various positions ranges from upper limits of 53 years to 66 years depending on the post, with age relaxation applicable for ex-servicemen as per government rules. Preference is given to ex-servicemen in appointments, and in many categories, ex-servicemen candidates are specifically required or preferred. This aligns with ECHS's objective of providing employment opportunities to retired defense personnel while simultaneously benefiting from their discipline, dedication, and sense of duty. Interested candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format available on the ECHS official website (www.echs.gov.in). The application form must be filled carefully with all accurate details and should be accompanied by self-attested photocopies of all relevant educational certificates, degree and diploma certificates, mark sheets, experience certificates, discharge book and Pension Payment Order (PPO) for ex-servicemen, medical registration certificates for doctors and nurses, caste certificate if applicable, recent passport-size color photographs, and any other supporting documents. The complete application along with all enclosures should be sent by post or submitted by hand to ECHS Cell, Station Health Organization, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Cantonment Area, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar PIN-431002 (Maharashtra). The last date for receipt of applications is 12th February 2026. Applications received after this deadline will not be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to send their applications well in advance to account for postal delays. The selection process involves a preliminary eligibility check where applications will be scrutinized for minimum qualifications and requirements. Only candidates meeting the qualitative requirements will be called for further selection process. The final selection will be based on interview performance conducted by a duly constituted selection panel. Eligible candidates will be intimated about the date, time, and venue of the interview through communication on their registered address or contact details. Candidates called for interview must bring all original certificates and documents including educational qualifications, professional degrees, experience certificates, discharge book and PPO (for ex-servicemen), medical registration certificates, identity proof, and recent passport-size photographs. No Travelling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid to candidates for attending the interview. Selected candidates will be engaged on a contractual basis initially for a period of one year, which may be extended based on performance and organizational requirements. Service conditions, leave rules, and other terms will be as per ECHS policies for contractual staff.
